Hi! I am Tabitha Johnson, the owner of Dementia Education and Consulting, Ltd.
I started working in the health care field in 2012 as a Certified Nursing Assistant or CNA at a long term care facility on a Dementia unit while I attended college.
In May of 2016, I graduated with my Masters of Science in Health Care Administration with a concentration in Gerontology. I have worked as the Social Services Director at the same long term care facility for the past three years. I am also the Northwest Council President for Social Workers of the Georgia Health Care Association since 2015.
In January 2017 I became a certified dementia practitioner (CDP) then went on to take a seminar to become a certified Alzheimer's disease and dementia care trainer (CADDCT).
I am also a Certified Eden Associate (CEA), Virtual Dementia Tour Facilitator (VDT-F), Family Support Group Facilitator (FSGF) for the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), Certified Dementia Support Group Facilitator (CDSGF), and Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP). I hold a Masters degree in Healthcare Administration (MBSHA) with a concentration in Gerontology and have recently received my certification as a certified End of Life professional Doula (CEOLD).
My educational and occupational experiences have allowed me to enhance my understanding of Dementia and the Alzheimer’s disease. My personal involvement intensifies my compassion and love for teaching others, to improve and provide those suffering with the disease, a better quality of life.
